Lichen planopilaris is an inflammatory disease that affects the hair follicles and may lead to progressive scarring alopecia. Inflammation may present with itching, pain, stinging, scaling or redness around the follicle. When the disease remains active, it may cause irreversible hair loss in the affected areas. <\/p>\n
Despite the therapeutic options currently available, controlling inflammation can be complex, and treatment response varies from one person to another. For this reason, it remains necessary to continue developing research projects that help improve understanding of the disease and evaluate new therapeutic alternatives. <\/p>\n
